General Knowledge 2 (English Medium) (2018-19)

General Knowledge 2 is the English-medium General Knowledge textbook for Class 2 (Grade 2) issued by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), Lahore. General Knowledge at this level brings Islamiat, social studies and early science together in one book. This is the board's own PDF of the full book: 88 pages, with 25 chapters.

The chapters begin with the blessings of Allah Almighty, the holy life of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ, the Ambiya and character building, fasting and religious festivals. They go on to Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam, the national flag, neighbours, a neat and clean environment, cities and villages, traffic rules and the government, then to the earth's resources, agriculture and animal farming, construction, conserving natural resources, helping and forgiving others and the equality of all human beings. The last five chapters are science: plants, animals, water, heat and light, and our Earth. Chapters end with an exercise, an activity and instructions for the teacher.

The authors, all from the board's own staff, are Shahzad Mehmood Ali, Ghias Amir, Ghufran Ahmad Asif, Atta Dastgeer, Abdul Rauf Zahid and Syed Saghir-ul-Hasnain Tirmzi, and the editors are Dr. Saman Jamil and Laiqa Khanum. Hafiz Muhammad Younas, Zafar Mehdi Zafar and Qaiser Saleem are credited as translators. The preface says the book follows the student learning outcomes of the 2006 curriculum.
