The Punjab board's Urdu textbook for Class 12 (Intermediate Part II), Sarmaya-e-Urdu: 14 prose pieces, 10 poems and 12 ghazals with exercises and a glossary, complete in 149 pages (April 2010 printing).

Sarmaya-e-Urdu (Urdu Lazmi) is the Punjab Textbook Board's compulsory Urdu textbook for Class 12 (Intermediate Part II, second year). This copy is a scan of the printed book in its April 2010 printing: 149 pages, with 14 prose pieces, 10 poems, 12 ghazals and a glossary.

The prose section runs from Allama Shibli Nomani's Manaqib-e-Umar bin Abdul Aziz to Rasheed Ahmad Siddiqui's Ayub Abbasi, with writing by Mian Bashir Ahmad, Maulvi Abdul Haq, Muhammad Hussain Azad, Maulvi Nazir Ahmad, Naseem Hijazi, Begum Akhtar Riazuddin, Chiragh Hasan Hasrat, Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rahman, Shahid Ahmad Dehlvi and Ibn-e-Insha, and two plays: Dastak by Mirza Adeeb and Qartaba ka Qazi by Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj. The poems open with a hamd by Maulana Zafar Ali Khan and a naat by Hafeez Taib, followed by Akbar Allahabadi, Hali, Josh Malihabadi, Syed Zamir Jafri, Majaz, Majeed Amjad, Ehsan Danish and Anwar Masood. The ghazals are by Khwaja Mir Dard, Mushafi, Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Nasir Kazmi, Firaq Gorakhpuri and Tabish Dehlvi. Every piece is followed by exercises, and the farhang at the end gives word meanings lesson by lesson.

The book was compiled by Dr. Ali Muhammad Khan, Dr. Abdul Ghani Farooq and Professor Jafar Baloch and edited by Professor Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq Chishti; it was reviewed by the National Review Committee of the Federal Ministry of Education. The imprint reads first edition, third impression, April 2010, published for the board by Zarqa Book Depot, Lahore. The copy is complete (printed pages 1 to 144); it is a scan of a used book, with a few handwritten notes on one page.
