About this book

Waqfiyat-e-Aama 2 (واقفیتِ عامہ 2) is the Urdu-medium General Knowledge textbook for Class 2 (Grade 2) issued by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), Lahore. It is the Urdu version of General Knowledge 2, with the same 25 chapters, authors, editors and review committees. This is the board's own PDF of the full book: 88 pages.

The chapters run from Allah Ta'ala ki naimatein, the Seerat-e-Tayyaba of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ, the Ambiya and character building, Roza and religious festivals, through Hamara Mulk Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam, Hamara Jhanda, neighbours, a clean environment, cities and villages, traffic rules and the government, to the earth's resources, farming and livestock, construction, protecting natural resources, helping and forgiving others and the equality of all people. They finish with plants, animals, water, heat and light, and our Earth. Chapters end with an exercise (mashq) and an activity.

The preface (deebacha) says the book was prepared after the Government of the Punjab ordered Urdu to be the medium of instruction for Classes 1 to 3, on the learning outcomes set in the 2006 curriculum, and describes it as the experimental edition for the 2016-17 academic year. The artist is Ayesha Waheed. No date of printing is shown inside this copy; the PDF file was produced in March 2018.
