English 9 (2018-19)

English 9 is the English textbook for Class 9 of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Lahore. This is the board's own PDF of the full book: 144 pages in black and white, with twelve units, three reviews and sample rubrics.

The units are The Saviour of Mankind, Patriotism, Media and Its Impact, Hazrat Asma (RA), Daffodils, The Quaid's Vision and Pakistan, Sultan Ahmad Masjid, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, All is not Lost, Drug Addiction, Noise in the Environment, and Three Days to See. Each unit states its learning outcomes, begins with pre-reading questions, gives the text in numbered paragraphs with questions in the margin and notes for the teacher, and is followed by exercises on comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing skills and oral communication. The sample rubrics show how paragraphs, essays, letters and oral presentations are marked.

The authors are Ruhi Zaka Malik, Fatima Dar and Zarqa Bashir, and the editor is Safdir Hussain. The book states that it was prepared by the board according to the National Curriculum 2006 and approved by the Punjab Curriculum Authority in December 2012. No date of printing is shown inside this copy; the PDF file was produced in March 2018. No page is missing.
