ebooks.pk is an online library for readers in Pakistan and wherever Urdu is read: a place to discover, read and share books in Urdu, English, Arabic and the regional languages of Pakistan — Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Saraiki, Balochi and more. Novels and poetry, Islamic books, history and biography, digests, children's books, and the textbooks, notes and past papers students need.
What you can do here
- Read in your browser. Books open in the online reader — nothing to install. Pages load as you read, so a book starts quickly even on a slow mobile connection, and the reader remembers where you stopped.
- Download to keep. Many books can be downloaded as a PDF or EPUB for personal reading; others can be read online only, as the person who shared them or the rights holder chose. Many large scanned books also have a smaller Data saver copy.
- Find books your way. Search in English, in Urdu script or in Roman Urdu — peer e kamil, pir-e-kamil and پیر کامل all work — or browse by category, language, author and series.
- Study. Education brings together textbooks, notes, MCQs and past papers by board, class and subject — from school to university and competitive exams.
- Ask for a book. If something is missing, post it on the requests board. Other readers can support your request, and you are told when the book is shared.
- Keep your own library. A free account lets you shelve books (want to read, reading, finished), rate and review them, make reading lists, follow authors and readers, set a daily reading goal and continue reading on any device.
A library built by its readers
The books on ebooks.pk are shared by members of our community. Our editors check new members' uploads before they go live, correct titles, authors and categories, group the editions of a book together and replace broken files, so that what you find here is complete and easy to read. Readers help too: a tap on Report tells us when a file is broken or a detail is wrong.
Respect for writers and publishers
Each book is shared under the rights its sharer chose, shown in the book's details. We take copyright seriously: a rights holder tells us through our copyright policy what should happen to a book — remove it, stop its downloads but keep reading online, or keep only its catalogue page with a link to where it is sold — and we act quickly; a removed file is kept from being uploaded again. Rights holders can also claim a book's page and decide how readers may use it. Every notice we receive is counted in our transparency report.
Authors and publishers who would like more readers for their books are welcome to share them here — see For publishers or write to us.
Why ebooks.pk exists
Many treasured Urdu books are out of print, a good library is far away for most readers, and students need their textbooks and past papers on the phone they already have. ebooks.pk brings these books within reach of every reader, student and teacher, and stays light and simple enough for any phone and any connection.
How the site is paid for
Reading on ebooks.pk is free. The site covers its running costs with clearly labelled advertising and with “Buy a hard copy” links to shops that sell printed books, some of which pay us a small commission (see our affiliate disclosure). We never sell your personal information — our privacy policy explains what we keep and why.
