Books on ebooks.pk are shared by members of our community, and we take copyright seriously. If you hold the rights to a book shared here and do not want it on the site in its current form, tell us: we act quickly, keep a removed file from coming back, and count every notice in our transparency report. This policy covers everything on the site — books and their files, covers and descriptions, notes, episodes, poems and narrations.
You decide what happens to the book
Removal is not the only choice. In your notice, tell us which of these you want for each book:
- Remove the book from the site — its page, the online reader and every download are taken down, and the file can never be uploaded again.
- Stop downloads, keep reading online — readers can still read it in the online reader, but every download (the file, other formats and copies on other hosts) is removed.
- Keep only its catalogue page — the title, author and description stay, with a link to where the book is sold or published if you give us one; there is no reading and no download.
Prefer to manage the book yourself? You can also claim it: on the book's page choose Report → I own this book — claim it. Once we have verified your claim, the book's page is yours to manage — keep it, allow reading online only, show a preview, link it to where you sell it, or remove it.
How to send a notice
The fastest way is the copyright notice form (also below on this page): you receive a case number (for example TD-2026-000123) by email and a private page to follow the case. You can also email [email protected] with:
- The link to each book page on ebooks.pk that you are reporting.
- The copyrighted work (title, author, publisher, edition) and whether you are its rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- What you want for each book: removal, no downloads but reading online, or a catalogue page only (with the link to where it is sold, if any).
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature (your full name typed is enough).
What happens next
We review notices in the order they arrive, usually within two working days, and email you the outcome. When a notice is valid, we do what you asked: a removed book disappears from the site, search and sitemaps, its files are no longer served from anywhere, the same file is blocked from being uploaded again and its page says it was removed following a copyright notice; a limited book keeps its page in the form you chose. The member who shared the book is told what was claimed and by whom. If we cannot act on a notice — for example when the link is not a book page on ebooks.pk or the work is not described — we tell you why.
Repeat-infringer policy
A book removed after a valid notice counts as a copyright strike against the account that shared it. A book its rights holder lets stay — limited to reading online, kept as a catalogue page, or claimed by them — never counts as a strike. Accounts that reach the strike limit lose the right to upload books and may be closed, and deleting an account does not clear its strikes. A strike is withdrawn when a book is restored after a successful counter-notice.
Counter-notice
If your upload was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, use the counter-notice link in our email or write to [email protected]. A counter-notice must include your name, postal address, phone number and email address; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the book was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address and to accept legal papers from the person who sent the notice; and your signature.
We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 working days that they have started a court action, we may restore the book.
False notices
Knowingly claiming that material infringes — or that it was removed by mistake — when it does not may make you liable for damages. If you are not sure whether a use infringes your rights, please take legal advice first.
Other problems with a book
For a wrong author, wrong details, a broken file or a privacy concern that is not about copyright, use the Report button on the book's page or write to [email protected].
