English Book I is the book of short stories for Class 11 (Intermediate Part I) prescribed by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Lahore, as part of compulsory English. This PDF is a scan of the printed book: 101 pages, with all 15 lessons.

The fifteen lessons are Button, Button; Clearing in the Sky; Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed; Thank You, M'am; The Piece of String; The Reward; The Use of Force; The Gulistan of Sa'di; The Foolish Quack; A Mild Attack of Locusts; I Have a Dream; The Gift of the Magi; God Be Praised; Overcoat; and The Angel and the Author - and Others. Each lesson gives the full text with the writer's name, followed by exercises: multiple choice, true or false, short answers, answers of 100 to 150 words, matching columns, verb forms, punctuation and indirect narration.

The compilers are Bashir Ahmed Chaudhry and Qazi Sajjad Ahmed, and the editor is Mrs. Shahida Rasul. The imprint gives May 2016, first edition, 12th impression, published for the board by Maktaba Ukhuwat, Lahore; the cover is marked 2016-17. No page is missing: printed pages 1 to 98 are all present. The scan shows some show-through from the reverse of the pages.
