About this book

The Urdu-medium General Science textbook for Class 5 from the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board: eight units from living things and microorganisms to electricity and the solar system, complete in 104 pages.

This is the Urdu-medium version of General Science 5, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board's science textbook for Class 5 (Grade 5). It is the board's own PDF of the full book: 104 pages in colour, with eight units, a glossary and an index.

The units cover the classification of living things, microorganisms, environmental pollution, matter and changes in its states, forces and machines, the properties and behaviour of light, electricity and magnetism, and the solar system. Unit titles and key terms are given in Urdu with the English term in brackets. Each unit opens with a photograph and a list of what will be learnt, uses labelled figures and activity boxes, and ends with multiple choice questions, blanks to fill in and short-answer questions.

The book has the same authors as the English-medium version: Prof. Dr. Mrs. Bushra Mateen, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rehman Chaudhry, Prof. Muhammad Tahir Hussain, Faiz Hussain, Atta Dastgeer and Qaiser Saleem, with Mrs. Rukhsana Zafar and Dr. Saman Jamil as editors; the Urdu translation is by Zafar Mehdi Zafar. The units start on the same pages as in the English-medium book and use the same pictures. No date of printing is shown inside this copy; the PDF file was produced in March 2018.
