English 6 (2018-19)

English for Grade VI is the English textbook for Class 6 (Grade 6) of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Lahore. This is the board's own PDF of the book: 161 pages in colour, with 13 lessons, three reviews and a sample rubric.

The lessons are Fair Dealing of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Surrounded by Trash, Chitral Valley, Night (poem), Travelling Etiquettes, Tests and Exams, Sports and Sportsmanship, The Rainbow (poem), Seasons of the Year, Modern Inventions, Zoo Hospital, Drugs are Dangerous and A Happy Prince. Each lesson states what students will be able to do, begins with a pre-reading box, gives the reading text in numbered paragraphs with pictures and questions along the way, and adds guidelines for the teacher at the foot of the page. Review 1, for example, practises articles, plural forms, the apostrophe and sentence types, and the sample rubric shows how paragraphs, letters and stories are marked.

The authors are Prof. Mirza Ghulam Muhammad Baig, who is also the editor, Prof. Mumtaz Ahmad, Mrs. Munazza Tajammal and Mrs. Tayyaba Sadaf. The introduction says the book follows the National Curriculum 2006. The imprint gives March 2018, first edition, published for the board by Ch. Ghulam Rasul & Sons, Lahore. One front page is missing from this file: printed page v, the second half of the contents table. All 154 pages of the lessons are present; the file opens with the title page.
