About this book

Computer Education 8 for Class 8 in Punjab: five units on networks, security threats, Excel spreadsheets, problem solving and BASIC programming, with answers and glossary, in 152 pages (two pages are blank in this file).

Computer Education 8 is the Computer textbook for Class 8 (Grade 8) used in Punjab, in English. This is the board's own PDF of the book: 152 pages in full colour, with five units, answers, a glossary, a bibliography and an index.

The five units are Networks and Communications, Computer Security Threats, Spreadsheets in Excel, Problem Solving, and Computer Programming. Unit title pages list the students' learning outcomes. The spreadsheet unit works with Microsoft Excel and its functions through screenshots, the problem-solving unit introduces flowcharts and their symbols, and the programming unit teaches BASIC. Answers to the exercises of every unit are given at the end.

The authors are Mr. Usman Ali Butt and Mr. Azhar Hameed. All rights are reserved with the Punjab Textbook Board; the book was prepared by Ch. Ghulam Rasul & Sons, Urdu Bazar, Lahore, whose name is on the cover, and the imprint gives March 2018, first edition, approved under the National Curriculum 2006. Please note that printed pages 91 and 92, inside Unit 4, are blank in this file, so part of the section on problem statements and the start of flowcharting cannot be read.
