Islamiat 8 (2018-19)

Islamiat 8 is the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board's Islamic Studies textbook for Class 8 (Grade 8), written in Urdu. This is the board's own PDF of the full book: 96 pages in black and white, arranged in five chapters.

Chapter one, Al-Quran al-Kareem, sets out the Quran portion for the class: Nazira reading of paras 21 to 30, the surahs to be memorised, and Ayat-ul-Kursi and Surah Alam Nashrah with translation. Chapter two covers belief and worship: the Hereafter and its part in building character, fasting, and Hajj. Chapter three has eleven lessons on the Seerat-e-Tayyiba, among them patience, keeping promises, steadfastness, justice and home life. Chapter four, on morals and manners, deals with enjoining good, the rights of others, honesty in business, jihad, national unity, lawful earning and respect for the law. Chapter five presents Hazrat Isa (AS), Hazrat Fatima (RA), Hazrat Salman Farsi (RA), Muhammad bin Qasim, Bu Ali Ibn Sina and Shah Waliullah. Each lesson ends with an exercise of detailed and short questions, blanks and multiple choice, and an activity for students.

The authors are Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Azhar, Prof. Iftikhar Ahmad Bhutta, the late Prof. Dr. Saeedullah Qazi, Prof. Dr. Ihsan-ul-Haq, Prof. Dr. Shabbir Ahmad Mansoori and the late Abdul Sattar Ghauri, with additions according to the 2006 curriculum by Hafiz Muhammad Arshad, Sabahat Afzal and Hafiz Dr. Muhammad Awais.
