The Urdu textbook for Class 9 used in Punjab, published by Ch. Ghulam Rasul & Sons, Lahore: 20 lessons of prose, poems and ghazals with exercises and a glossary, complete in 152 pages.

Urdu 9 (Urdu Baraye Jamaat Nahum) is the Urdu textbook for Class 9 used in Punjab. This is the full book in 152 pages: a colour PDF with 20 lessons and a glossary, published by Ch. Ghulam Rasul & Sons, Lahore, and also printed by the Punjab Textbook Board for free distribution in government schools.

The prose part runs from Hijrat-e-Nabvi and Mirza Ghalib ke Aadaat-o-Khasail through Kaahili, Nasooh aur Saleem ki Guftugu, Panchayat, Aaram-o-Sukoon, the play Lahu aur Qaleen, Imtihan and Qadr-e-Ayaz. The verse part has a hamd, a naat, the poems Barsaat ki Baharein and Paivasta Reh Shajar se Umeed-e-Bahar Rakh, and ghazals including those of Mir Taqi Mir, Ghalib and Bahadur Shah Zafar. A one-page introduction of the writer comes before each lesson, and lessons open with teaching objectives and end with an exercise of short questions, multiple choice and fill-in items. A glossary arranged by lesson closes the book.

The compilers are Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Hassan, Dr. Muhammad Saleh Tahir, Prof. Dr. Asif Awan, Prof. Muhammad Naeem Bazmi and Prof. Asad Ayub Niazi. The imprint gives March 2016, first edition, and states that the book is approved under the National Curriculum 2006 and that the board prints it under a print licence from the publisher. No page is missing from this copy; the PDF was produced in March 2018.
