English Book III (Plays and Poems) — Class 11 (2016-17)

English Book III (Plays and Poems) is the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board's drama and poetry book for the compulsory English course of Class 11 (Intermediate Part I, first year). This copy is a scan of the printed book of the 2016-17 session: 101 pages, with three plays and twenty poems.

Part I has the plays Heat Lightning by Robert F. Carroll, Visit to a Small Planet by Gore Vidal and The Oyster and the Pearl by William Saroyan, each with its list of characters and followed by exercises: multiple-choice and true / false items, short and longer questions, punctuation and prepositions. Part II has the poems The Rain, Night Mail, Loveliest of Trees, the Cherry Now, O Where are You Going?, In the Street of the Fruit Stalls, A Sindhi Woman, Times, Ozymandias, The Feed, The Hollow Men, Leisure, Ruba'iyat, A Tale of Two Cities, My Neighbour Friend Breathing His Last!, He Came to Know Himself, God's Attributes, The Delight Song, Love – an Essence of All Religions, A Man of Words and Not of Deeds and In Broken Images.

The book was compiled by Rafiq Mahmood, Bashir Ahmed Chaudhri, Qazi Sajjad Ahmed, Mian Mohammad Afzal, Razzi Abidi and Shahid Imtiaz. The imprint, at the foot of the last page, reads first edition, impression 26, May 2016, published for the board by Iqbal Book Corner, Gulberg, Lahore. The copy is complete (printed pages 1 to 98); it is a scan of a used printed book, so the reverse side shows through on some pages.
