Sahih Muslim (Volume 4)

Sahih Muslim is one of the six major collections of hadith (the Sihah Sitta) and, with Sahih al-Bukhari, one of the two collections known as the Sahihayn. It was compiled by Imam Abul-Husain Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj of Nishapur (d. 261 AH / 875 CE), who admitted only narrations that met strict conditions of authenticity and gathered the different chains and wordings of each hadith in one place.

This is the fourth of seven volumes of the English translation by Nasiruddin al-Khattab, edited by Huda Khattab with a final review by Abu Khaliyl, and published by Darussalam in 2007. Each hadith appears in Arabic with its English translation; the hadith were edited and referenced by Hafiz Abu Tahir Zubair Ali Zai.

Volume 4 covers hadith 3398 to 4518 and deals with family and civil law: marriage, breastfeeding, divorce and Li'an, manumission, financial transactions and sharecropping (Musaqah), the shares of inheritance, gifts, wills, vows and oaths, retaliation, the legal punishments (Hudud), judicial decisions and lost property.
