امام مسلم

?–875 Also spelled: Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, Imam Muslim bin Hajjaj, Imam Muslim Nishapuri, Muslim an-Naysaburi

Abu al-Husayn Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj al-Qushayri an-Naysaburi (d. 261 AH / 875 CE) was a scholar of hadith from Nishapur in Khorasan. He travelled to the Hijaz, Iraq, Syria and Egypt to hear hadith from the scholars of his time and died near his home city in 261 AH.

His Sahih — Sahih Muslim — is one of the six major hadith collections; Sunni Muslims regard it, together with Sahih al-Bukhari, as one of the two most authentic. It is valued for bringing the different chains of each narration together in one place.
