Jami at-Tirmidhi (Volume 4)

Jami at-Tirmidhi, also known as Sunan at-Tirmidhi, is one of the six major collections of hadith (the Sihah Sitta), compiled by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa at-Tirmidhi (d. 279 AH / 892 CE). After each narration the compiler gives its grading, names other Companions who reported on the subject and notes how the early jurists acted on it, which makes the book a reference for comparative fiqh as well as hadith.

This is the fourth of six volumes of the English translation by Abu Khaliyl, published by Darussalam in 2007. Each hadith appears in Arabic with its English translation, followed by a grading by Hafiz Zubair Ali Zai and short explanatory comments.

Volume 4 covers hadith 1897 to 2605. Here the collection turns from law to character and belief: righteousness and maintaining family ties, medicine, inheritance, the Divine Decree (Al-Qadar), trials and tribulations (Al-Fitan), dreams, witnesses and Zuhd (detachment from the world), closing with narrations on the Day of Judgement, Paradise and Hell.
