Surah Ash-Shams

Surah Ash-Shams (سورة الشمس, "The Sun") is the 91st surah of the Holy Quran. It has 15 ayahs and was revealed in Makkah.

After a series of oaths by the sun, the moon, the day, the night, the sky, the earth and the soul, it states that the one who purifies his soul succeeds and the one who corrupts it fails. The people of Thamud are given as the example.
