Surah Bani Israel

Surah Bani Israel (سورة بني إسرائيل, "The Children of Israel"), also known as Surah Al-Isra ("The Night Journey"), is the 17th surah of the Holy Quran. It has 111 ayahs and was revealed in Makkah.

It opens with the Prophet's night journey from Makkah to Al-Aqsa, recalls the history of the Children of Israel, and sets out a code of conduct: worship Allah alone, honour parents, give relatives and the poor their due, and avoid waste, killing, adultery and pride.
