Surah Al-Alaq (سورة العلق, "The Clot"), also called Surah Iqra, is the 96th surah of the Holy Quran. It has 19 ayahs and was revealed in Makkah.
Its first five ayahs, beginning with the command "Read in the name of your Lord who created", were the first revelation received by the Prophet in the cave of Hira. The rest rebukes the one who forbade a servant from praying. It ends with an ayah of prostration.
This PDF gives the Arabic text of the surah only, without translation, in the large, clear Indo-Pak script that readers in Pakistan are used to, with ayah numbers and ruku marks. It has 2 pages and can be read online or downloaded for recitation and memorisation.
