Bhare hain is pari mein ab to yaaro sar-ba-sar moti

Gale mein kaan mein nath mein jidhar dekho udhar moti

Koi bundon se mil kar kaan ke narmon mein hilta hai

Ye kuchh lazzat hai jab apna chhidate hain jigar moti

Wo dariya motiyon ka hum se rootha ho to phir yaaro

Nazir is rekhte ko sun wo hans kar yun lagi kahne

About this ghazal

A playful ghazal on the refrain "moti" (pearls). The beloved is covered in pearls, at the neck, the ears and the nose ring, and even the stars lose their senses at the sight. Asked their name, they laugh and answer "Moti". The lover's eyes rain pearls of tears, and in the last couplet the beloved promises Nazir a whole tray of pearls for his verse, if only they had them. 1 couplet of the original is not included here.
