About this ghazal

A pain that began one evening has left the poet cold before morning. In five couplets Mir sits like settled dust after a life of wandering the lanes, notes that no one since Majnun has walked love's road as far, and closes on his own portrait at the beloved's door: wet eyes, dry lips and a pale face. The ghazal is given in full.
