کہاں فرشتۂ تہذیب کی ضرورت ہے

نہیں زمانۂ حاضر کو اس میں دشواری

About this nazm

Five couplets titled "Mandate", written with irony. The age easily finds where an "angel of civilisation" is needed: a land with no gambling, no scantily dressed women, where wine is forbidden, whose bold and sharp desert youth hold to their forefathers' ways and have no schools. The Western experts' verdict is that such a land still lacks civilisation.
