English 11 — KPK Textbook Board (2020-21)

English 11 is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board's English textbook for Grade 11 (Class 11, 1st Year, Intermediate Part 1), a "Test Edition" printed for the academic year 2020-21. This PDF is a scan of a printed copy with 219 pages. Please note: the file is incomplete. Printed pages 122 to 145 and 151 to 166 are missing (40 pages: units 14, 15, 17 and 18, the end of unit 13 and the last page of unit 16), and printed pages 183 to 198 appear twice.

The book has 22 units, each built around a reading text: Responsibilities of the Youth, His First Flight, Good Timber (poem), From Mother With Love, Its Country for Me, Mother to Son (poem), Choice of Career, Wasteland, The White Lamb, The World is Too Much With Us, The Importance of Family, The Blanket, Ozymandias, A Long Walk Home, University Days, School vs Education, What You Do Is What You Are, A Dream Within A Dream, Drug Abuse in the Youth of Pakistan, How to Take a Job Interview, The Road Not Taken and The Progress. Each unit opens with its learning outcomes and follows the text with a glossary of difficult words, a note about the author or poet, comprehension questions and language exercises.

The book was prepared by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board, Peshawar, which holds all rights in it, and approved by the Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education (DCTE), Abbottabad (NOC No. 2103-05/CTR/Eng-XI(TBB), dated 19-03-2020). Its author is Prof. Hamidullah Khan and its editor Waheedullah Khan. The foreword calls it a revised textbook aligned with the National Curriculum 2006. A faint diagonal watermark runs across the inside pages of the scan.
