About this ghazal

A ghazal of a body and heart in pieces: the chest torn, the liver shredded, the heart all blood, and still the heart is grateful to the one who wrongs it. A thin cloud over the wilderness is the damp dust of Majnun, a rose reflected in a stream tempts one to wine, and the maqta asks the beloved not to be annoyed by Mir, who is simply mad with love. 2 couplets of the original are not included here.
