About this ghazal

A playful early ghazal in a short metre: the beloved was thirsty for the lover's blood last night, yet he is devoted even to the dog of that lane. Love for those eyes and brows has made him a hunter who kills deer with a sword, the morning breeze smells of perfume because a scented curl came undone, and the merest mention of the beloved's name drains the colour from his face. Three couplets are not included here.
