About this ghazal

One of Mir's most quoted short ghazals: how can he explain his weariness when he has lived his life dying again and again? His state is not fit to tell, yet the beloved was kind to ask. He boasts that his sweet speech is famous enough to challenge the nightingale, and ends with Mir starting again the very story that cost him his sleep last night.
