کہیے ہووے جو کچھ بھی ڈھب کی بات

kahiye hove jo kuchh bhi dhab ki baat

About this ghazal

A short ghazal on the radif "ki baat" (a matter of …): what can be told of that night with the beloved; wonder has sealed the poet's lips, and they will open when they open. Mir dismisses the wits of the past, saying the only talk that counts is talk of now, and closes by admitting that though he was once fiery of tongue, those days are gone. Two couplets of the original are not included here.
