About this ghazal

Ever since the shade of the beloved's sword left his head, the poet has burned in the sun. One furious glance falls like lightning on a harvest of roses; words come hard to the dying, so the beloved should listen a moment. Heart, mind and liver, once at odds, now agree on one thing, and the poet has slept away the whole road of his search. The closing couplet names a rare pleasure: rose-coloured wine and a ghazal in one's own manner. 2 couplets of the original are not included here.
