About this nazm

Addressed to the students of Aligarh College: my message is different from others', the poet says, for one who feels love's pain speaks in another way. The mountain says life's secret is rest, the weak ant says the joy is in moving; without the urge to seek, endless ease is death. The morning candle taught that burning is life's music, and the wine of their age is not yet ripe.
