About this nazm

Iqbal imagines the last counsel of Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore who died fighting in 1799. Each couplet ends "na kar qubul" (do not accept): a traveller of longing should not settle for the destination, a stream should not settle for the shore, and truth should not share a place with falsehood.
