Karti rahi main pairahan-e-lala o gul chaak

Majbur hui jati hoon main tark-e-watan par

Be-zauq hain bulbul ki nawa-ha-e-tarab-nak

About this nazm

"The Breeze and the Dew", a short dialogue. The breeze complains that it never reached the stars and only tore the garments of tulip and rose; tired of the nightingale's cheerful songs it is ready to leave home, and asks the dew, who knows both, which is better: the garden's dust or the sky's pavilion. The dew answers that if the garden's straw does not hold you back, the garden too is a secret of the sky.
