About this nazm

An early Bang-e-Dra nazm addressed to the sun, which the book marks as Iqbal's Urdu rendering of the Gayatri. The sun is called the life of the world, the cause of everything's appearance and growth, the source of light in heart, mind and awareness, and the poet asks it to give understanding and to light the eye of reason. Its light, he says, has no beginning and no end.
