Tareekh-e-Islam (Volume 2)

Tareekh-e-Islam (تاریخ اسلام) is a three-volume history of Islam in Urdu by Maulana Akbar Shah Khan Najeebabadi. It is one of the most widely read general histories of the Muslim world in the language, written as a connected narrative for ordinary readers and not only for scholars.

Volume 2 takes up the story after the Rightly Guided Caliphs. It begins with the Umayyad caliphate: Ameer Muawiya, Yazid and the events of Karbala, Abdullah ibn Zubair, Marwan and the rulers who followed. It then continues with the caliphate that succeeded the Umayyads.
