جامع الترمذي
Also spelled: Jamia Tirmizi, Jami Tirmizi, Jame Tirmizi, Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Tirmizi, Tirmizi Sharif, Tirmidhi Shareef, Jami al-Tirmidhi
Jami at-Tirmidhi, also known as Sunan at-Tirmidhi, is one of the six major collections of hadith (the Sihah Sitta). It was compiled in the third century Hijri by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa at-Tirmidhi (d. 279 AH / 892 CE), a student of Imam al-Bukhari.
The collection holds close to four thousand narrations arranged by subject, from purification and prayer through trade, law, manners and belief to the explanation of the Qur'an, supplications and the virtues of the Companions. After each narration the compiler gives its grading, names other Companions who reported on the same subject and records how the early jurists acted on it, so the book serves as a reference for comparative fiqh as well as hadith.
