About this ghazal

Whenever the beloved's name is spoken, the poet's eyes fill with tears, and he wonders where anyone finds the courage to go on living like this. The selected couplets include the caged birds who never know a garden, the night of grief that waits for the beloved's morning visit, and Mir's sly line that the greatest fault a craftsman can have is real skill.
