Jalwe meri nigaah mein kaun-o-makaan ke hain

Mujh se kahan chhupenge vo aise kahan ke hain

Khulte nahin hain raaz jo soz-e-nihaan ke hain

Kya phootne ke vaaste chhaale zabaan ke hain

About this ghazal

A ghazal on the refrain "kahan ke hain" and its rhymes: the lover claims the whole world's splendour in his sight, finds his tongue taking on the beloved's colours, and imagines the beloved's ruined lovers arriving in the land beyond, where everyone asks where these travellers come from. 1 couplet of the original is not included here.
