Nawab Waheed-uz-Zaman (1850–1920) was a scholar and translator from British India, born in Kanpur; he died in Hyderabad (Deccan) on 15 May 1920. He was among the first to translate the major hadith collections into Urdu — his translations include Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan an-Nasai and the Muwatta of Imam Malik — and the first book he translated was the fiqh text Sharh al-Wiqaya, published in Urdu as Noor-ul-Hidaya.
