Quran Para 1 (Alif Laam Meem)

Para 1 of the Holy Quran is known by its opening words as Alif Laam Meem (الم). It contains Surah Al-Fatihah and the first part of Surah Al-Baqarah.

After the opening prayer of Al-Fatihah, it describes the believers, the disbelievers and the hypocrites, tells the story of Adam, and addresses the Children of Israel at length, recalling the favours shown to them and the story of the cow. It ends with Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) raising the foundations of the Kaaba.
